All documents you want to file with the court must be filed with the District Clerk’s Office through e-filing, in person, fax, or by mail. Contact the District Clerk’s Office with any questions at (409) 835-8580 or districtclerk@jeffcotx.us.  

All motions must include a Certificate of Conference stating you made an effort to resolve the motion with all other parties and lawyers before filing.

To schedule a hearing, contact the court coordinator by phone or email. Hearings are held throughout the week between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., subject to the court’s availability. If the Court is in trial, hearings are conducted between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Cases are typically allowed 15 minutes per hearing, if more time is needed, you must notify the court coordinator when scheduling the hearing. Possibly. Depending on the complexity of the matter, type of hearing, and the situation, the court will use its discretion to permit virtual hearings. Contact the court to see if you can schedule a virtual hearing.

Court staff will contact you after your hearing is set with instructions for the hearing, including how evidence is submitted and presented to the court.

No. All jury trials are held in person only.
