When is Live Chat Online?
You can chat with a live person from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Monday through Thursday. Please note that chat will be closed on the following weekdays due to holidays and office closings: 12/24/18, 12/25/18, 12/31/18, and 1/1/19. Due to staff training, chat will be open 1:00 - 4:00 PM on 12/19/18.
What if Live Chat is Offline?
When live chat is offline you may be able to get answers to your questions by going to TexasLegalAnswers.org.
Depending on your level of income you might qualify for free answers to your questions from a licensed attorney through TexasLegalAnswers.
If you qualify, a licensed attorney will review your question and send you an answer.
All answers provided by TexasLegalAnswers are completely free.
Can I get free legal advice over Live Chat?
Possibly! Depending on your level of income you might qualify for free legal advice from a licensed staff attorney.
Volunteers might be online instead of attorneys.
Volunteers do not provide advice. If you would like to see if you qualify for free legal advice please ask to be transferred to a staff attorney.
However, even if you do not qualify, volunteers and staff attorneys will do their best to provide useful information you can read over and places you can contact for more help.
Is this service free?
YES. All services including navigation assistance, legal information, and legal advice are completely free.
