The Health Law Program was specifically created to respond to the growing need for legal assistance with health care issues. The Health Law Project provides free legal services to Texans with modest incomes that have questions regarding healthcare issues. Such issues include, but are not limited to: Medicare and Medicaid matters, FMLA, continuation of healthcare after end of employment, denial of treatment and end of life planning and directives. LegalLine is a community service outreach program created by the Houston Bar Association in 1985. This hotline is designed to help the people of Houston receive simple legal advice, answers to legal questions and referrals to helpful resources over the telephone, at no cost to the caller. Jane’s Due Process, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2001. The organization’s mission is to ensure legal representation for pregnant minors in Texas.  Jane’s Due Process is one of the few organizations in the country dedicated to pregnant teens and is considered a pioneer in delivering legal services to this group. The core of the JDP program is its statewide toll-free legal hotline and lawyer referral service. The Pro Bono Program is a service of the Jefferson County Bar Association that provides access to justice for low-income residents of Southeast Texas who otherwise do not have the means to afford an attorney.  The program serves the residents of Hardin, Jefferson, Liberty and Orange Counties.Please click the link for more information. 
The Veterans Legal Initiative provides basic legal services to Jefferson, Hardin, Orange, Liberty and Chambers County U.S. veterans and the spouses of deceased veterans through FREE legal advice clinics throughout the year.  In addition to the clinics, the JCBA hosts bi-monthly topic-specific legal seminars at the Beaumont VA Outpatient Clinic.  For veterans needing legal representation and who financially qualify, ProBono attorneys may be assigned.
