I am not a Texas resident but my case is taking place in Texas.

  • If you think you might qualify for legal aid, contact the legal aid organization closest to where you live.
  • Apply for services and ask if they can help. If they tell you they cannot help because the case is taking place in Texas, ask them to directly refer your case to the appropriate legal aid organization in Texas. 
     
  • When your case is directly referred, the legal aid organization near you will send your application directly to the appropriate legal aid organization in Texas. Once that organization receives the application it will decide whether or not it can help you.
