Texas School Districts Offering Free Meals to Students

The Texas Education Agency, in partnership with the Office of the Governor and Texas Department of Agriculture, has launched a MealFinder Map for families to find free school meals, both breakfast and lunch, for pick-up while school buildings are closed during the coronavirus outbreak. Caregivers can now visit the TXSchools.gov Meal Finder Map here. Note that the TX Department of Agriculture has been approved to develop a plan that that will soon allow parents to pick up free school meals without their kids present.

Also note the staff of the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty, the Texas Hunger Initiative, and other state partners have also compiled information on school closures and food resources here.

Several Texas school districts are offering free meals to their students during Spring Break and COVID-19 school closures.  You can check your school district's website, Facebook, and Twitter accounts for the most up-to-date information.
