Baylor Law School - Veterans Clinic
If you are a veteran with a civil legal issue, please contact the clinic at 254-710-4244 or Veterans_Clinic@baylor.edu
For more information on the Baylor Law School Veterans Clinic, please contact clinic director Josh Borderud.
We assist veterans with many civil legal issues including:
- Family Law matters
- Child Support
- Consumer Debt and Bankruptcy issues
- Real Property matters involving Foreclosures
- Traffic tickets
- Landlord-tenant disputes.
At our monthly clinics, both student and attorney volunteers participate to provide advice, counsel, and legal analysis for veterans. Those cases that require further representation are referred to volunteer attorneys on a pro bono basis. Additionally, some cases are handled internally by Baylor Law students under attorney supervision.
Applicants for our services must qualify under the income guidelines provided by the Texas Access to Justice Foundation, which is 200% of the federal poverty line and below. We provide legal advice and services to veterans and their spouses in McLennan County and its surrounding counties: Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Hill, and Limestone.
What if I have an emergency?
If you have an emergency involving domestic violence, please contact as soon as you are able to do so safely.
Make sure to let the intake worker know about any urgent deadlines. All conversations are confidential.
