Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA) is a nonprofit organization that has served the Houston community for 40 years with the mission to end family violence by advocating for the safety and self-determination of victims, promoting accountability for abusers and fostering a community response to abuse. AVDA is dedicated to providing multilingual, transformational, life-saving services to survivors of abuse and their families.

Make sure to let the intake worker know about any urgent deadlines. All conversations are confidential.
AVDA's legal team can help with legal advice or legal representation for a protective order, divorce, or child custody. The legal team will walk with you through the court process and help you with other supportive services. They also provide counseling and a variety of emergency assistance.

Cases are accepted for representation only within the Harris County and Fort Bend County court systems.
