Find Local Family & Domestic Violence Services
Domestic abuse is not limited to any single culture, social class, or lifestyle. Accordingly, the needs of each domestic violence victim may be different and require different resources and solutions.
The Texas Department of Health and Human Services offers information on three types of centers that help victims of domestic violence.
- Centers that Provide Temporary Shelter and Support Services (Shelter)
- Centers with Support Services Only (Non-Residential Centers)
- Organizations that Provide Special Services for Victims of Family Violence (Special Projects)
The health and human services' directory is divided into categories that reflect these different types of services. Because of this, your city may be listed in more than one category so be sure to check each different section to learn what resources are available in your area.
Additionally, the non-profit Sexual Assault Legal Services and Assistance Program (SALSA), offers the opportunity to search for services and resources online. SImply enter your city or zip code to see a map of nearby resources and a list of contact information for each. Click here to visit SALSA's interactive website.
You may also click the button below for more information directly from SALSA about sexual assault, your rights as a survivor and where to find help through the legal system and other resources.
