South Central Pension Rights Project
The South Central Pension Rights Project (SCPRP) is a non-profit legal assistance program. Our mission is to help individuals understand and exercise their pension rights. If you or your spouse live or worked in Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Texas, or if your pension plan is located in any of those states, we can assist you. SCPRP is a program of Texas Legal Services Center, in cooperation with Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. SCPRP is funded, primarily, by a grant from the U.S. Administration on Aging. We have offices in Austin, Texas and St. Louis, Missouri. Services are provided free of charge, regardless of age. Attorneys and paralegals provide services over the telephone and through the mail. The Texas Pension Review Board (PRB) is mandated to oversee all Texas public retirement systems, both state and local, in regard to their actuarial soundness and compliance with state law. Our mission is to provide the State of Texas with the necessary information and recommendations to ensure that our public retirement systems, whose combined assets total in the multi-billions, are financially sound, benefits are equitable, the systems are properly managed, tax expenditures for employee benefits are kept to a minimum while still providing for those employees, and to expand the knowledge and education of administrators, trustees, and members of Texas public pension funds.
